Homes England funds Sheffield redevelopment with £6.4m

Homes England is investing £6.4m in a Sheffield redevelopment led by Urban Splash and Places for People.

The money will be used to deliver the next phase of housing at Park Hill, where 455 new homes and 50,000 sq ft of commercial space have already been created.

The funding, provided through the Brownfield Infrastructure Land (BIL) Fund — will enable works to commence on Phase four.

This phase will deliver 125 brand-new homes, 20% of which will be affordable, along with improvements to the public realm, electric vehicle charging points, a car club, and secure cycle storage.

"Park Hill is one of the most ambitious and celebrated regeneration schemes in the UK,” said Sian Stanhope, development manager at Urban Splash.

“Over the last ten years, we’ve worked to retain its architectural heritage while breathing new life into this landmark.

“Phase four will continue that journey, introducing high-quality, design-led homes, more green space, and improved amenities for existing and future residents."

Pauline Schaffer, director of infrastructure funding at Homes England, added: "As the government’s housing and regeneration agency, our BIL funding supports the delivery of homes on strategically important sites, particularly where viability is a challenge.

“Park Hill is a remarkable example of urban regeneration of this kind, and we’re proud to be supporting Urban Splash and Places for People as they deliver the next chapter of this nationally significant project.”
